One of the most challenging aspects of teaching today is the diversity of learners in each classroom. When we don’t know much about our students’ lives and backgrounds, how can we create a respectful and inclusive environment to ensure all children are learning?
Today's teachers have to be knowledgeable and open to learning about students' cultures and ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, abilities, and ways of learning. It doesn't really matter if you work in a rural, suburban or urban school; you will work with a diversity of children.
We prepare all of our teachers to recognize and integrate the life experiences and perspectives of the children in their classrooms, and to make each classroom a safe and respectful learning environment.
