Roshan Anglin has always liked math, but she knows that’s not true for a lot of students, who often struggle with mathematical concepts. So she wants to be a math teacher who can help kids really love the subject.
It makes me feel more confident that I do have a math degree. I know what it’s like to struggle, and with hard work you can pull it off. When I struggled with my courses, it gave me the perspective of what students are dealing with.”
Really look at where you see your life in 5-10 years. Can you see yourself teaching and being happy? Do classroom observation and figure out if teaching is where you’re going to be fulfilled.”
Roshan is currently a math teacher at Washington Technology Magnet School in St. Paul, MN, and is a 2014 Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Fellow.
